Ljubljana, 20 May 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project Wastewater collection and treatment in Ljubljanica River basin – Municipality Logatec. The EUR 839,000 environmental infrastructure project will be implemented by Municipality Logatec under the Agreement on the development of the Osrednjeslovenska region and supported by the EU, with the contribution from the Cohesion Fund standing at EUR 350,000.

Municipality Logatec will construct the missing sections of the public sewerage system in the agglomeration Logatec by laying sewers between Jamnica-Dolenji Logatec and Gorenji Logatec and between Lokev and Dolenji Logatec. Construction work will include installation of 2,192 meters of sewer lines and construction of four pumping stations. Additional 285 residents will be connected to the newly established network, which will increase the connection rate to 98.64% so that nearly all of the population in Municipality Logatec will be connected to the public sewerage system.

The project will importantly contribute to reducing water pollution in the river basin concerned.
