Providing safe access to drinking water: EU funding for hydraulic improvements in Sevnica

Ljubljana, 23 April 2021 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project “Hydraulic improvements in the municipality Sevnica - DRR”. The project worth EUR 4.2 million will be implemented in the framework of the Agreement on the Development of the Posavje Region and will receive EUR 2.2 million of Cohesion Fund support.

The project covers the construction of pipelines with the associated facilities in the length of 21,072 meters. The project will also result in the establishment of the Log and Šentjanž pumping stations, the Komen, Metenca, Okroglice dischargers and the construction of the Cerje and Šentjanž water reservoirs.

By 2023 the municipality of Sevnica will provide a long-term safe, quality and reliable water supply to a total of 11,286 inhabitants.
