State Secretary at the Interreg Programme Slovenia-Austria workshop underlines the relevance of cross-border cooperation

At the Interreg Programme Slovenia-Austria 2021-2027 workshop, which took place in Ptuj, State Secretary at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy mag. Marko Koprivc underlined the relevance of cross-border programmes that “build trust between the neighbouring partners”.

The call for proposals under the cross-border programme Slovenia-Austria 2021-2027, published in December 2022, makes 45 million euros of European Regional Development Fund support available. The calls for proposals under the cross-border programmes with Croatia and Hungary will be published in March 2023,” said mag. Marko Koprivc, State Secretary at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, in his opening address.

State Secretary underlined the relevance of cross-border Interreg programmes that “build trust between the neighbouring partners and offer significant development incentives for local communities. Each well-invested euro, coming either from the EU or the national budget, is an investment into our common future,” underlined State Secretary.

Slovenian institutions can participate in as many as 13 Interreg programmes that make over 1.6 billion euros available. “By participating in cross-border cooperation programmes, Slovenian institutions have access to the knowledge and experiences, already developed and tested in Europe. Such best practices and new solutions can be adapted and transferred into our environment which thus improve peoples’ lives in Slovenia,” concluded State Secretary and wished the participants many creative ideas and well-prepared projects.
