Vrhnika, 1 April 2022 – As part of the visit of the members of Slovenian Government to the south of the Osrednjeslovenska region, the State Secretary at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy attended a government working meeting and a working lunch, and participated in a public debate that brought together members of the government, local authorities and regional development players.
The government working visit to the Osrednjeslovenska region was split in two. At the beginning of the month, the members of the government visited the northern part of the region. Today, they visited the municipalities lying in the south of the region, i.e. Borovnica, Brezovica, Dobrepolje, Dobrova-Polhov Gradec, Grosuplje, Horjul, Ig, Ivančna Gorica, Logatec, Log-Dragomer, Škofljica, Šmartno pri Litiji, Velike Lašče and Vrhnika.
Altogether 277 projects worth a total of nearly EUR 74 million are currently carried out in this part of the country. Ten projects estimated at EUR 40.51 million are entitled to co-financing under the Agreement on the development of the Osrednjeslovenska region by the end of the programming period 2014-2020. Nine out of ten projects were approved under the current government.
The State Secretary first took part in the government working meeting in Grosuplje and later on attended a working lunch with the prime minister and the mayors to discuss EU funding and funding opportunities, and to highlight certain EU-funded projects that were successfully completed. During the discussion, State Secretary Kirbiš Rojs outlined priority intervention areas that were set for the coming programming period: ''We will continue to support our economy, local communities and various organisations with the help of EU funding. Well-prepared high-quality projects can count on EU support in the next programming period as well.''
The State Secretary ended the visit to the region by attending a public debate featuring the members of the government, the mayors, the businessmen and other regional development players.
