Mestna občina Ljubljana je s pomočjo Kohezijskega sklada v letih 2013–2015 energetsko sanirala 17 vrtcev in 2 osnovni šoli, med njimi tudi enoto Kekec. Pri vseh so zasledovali cilj dobrega počutja otrok. Z ureditvijo vzgojno izobraževalnih prostorov v smislu izboljšanja energetske učinkovitosti vrtca se je izboljšala tudi kakovost vzgojno izobraževalnega procesa tako za predšolske otroke kot zaposlene.

The project was nominated by Irena Bezgovšek: ‘’The energy efficiency and renewable energy sources measures (envelope, ventilation, heat pumps) that were implemented provide perfect living conditions for our children in best state-of-the-art facilities.’’
Urban Municipality of Ljubljana received a Cohesion Fund grant and undertook energy-saving renovation works at two primary schools and 17 kindergartens, including the branch unit Kekec during the 2013-2015 period. The main objective was to make energy improvements so as to have healthy and comfortable indoor environments for the children to feel their best. Improvement of public educational institutions in the sense of enhanced energy efficiency of the kindergartens went hand in hand with improvement of the educational process quality, both for the pre-school children and the kindergarten staff.
