EU funds for improved quality of public services provision
At present Slovenia does not have a uniform overview of the organisational and functional structure of public administration entities, and no instruments or measurable indicators which would serve as a basis for comparing the individual entities and measure their effectiveness on a regular basis. This is indeed the basis for developing the right and focused solutions for optimising and rationalising public administration and, later on, also the public sector.
The project covers the preparation of an organisational analysis which shall cover the views of all the entities, namely by surveying all the main attributes from the existing databases. The project also covers the design of the instruments to be used in comparing the entities (i.e. measurable indicators) which will help identify the best- and worst-performing segments of public administration and, later on, the wider public sector. This will provide the needed basis to design focused solutions for optimising and rationalising the public administration system and the wider public sector. The realisation of the designed solutions will contribute to the modernisation, improved efficiency and lower costs of the public administration system. The aim of the project is to reinforce the institutional capacity of the public administration entities to permanently improve the situation in terms of public administration – to improve the efficiency and quality of public services provision.
