EU funds for promoting traineeship

Ljubljana, 3 December 2015 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as the Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, issued a grant-award decision for the programme “Promoting traineeship” worth EUR 1.8 million. The European Social Fund contribution, which will be allocated in the framework of the 2014-2020 programming period, amounts to nearly EUR 1.5 million.

The programme targets first time job seekers after attaining the level and type of education as stipulated by the Social Security Act. The aim of the programme is to enhance employability of first time job seekers, strengthen the social security sector in terms of implementing individual social security programmes and thus ensure higher-quality services for the users of social security programmes.    

The programme objective is to employ 100 first time job seekers (40 in the cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija and 60 in the cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija) who meet traineeship criteria in the field of social security, and to carry out trainings in the field of social security with the aim of attaining and strengthening their skills and knowledge.
