EU funds for relocating Computing Centre of Jožef Stefan Institute

 

Ljubljana, 26 March 2015 – Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as the Managing Authority for European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, approved the project “Purchase and renovation of premises for relocating the Computing Centre of the Jožef Stefan Institute”. The project, which is worth over EUR 1.3 million, will receive European Regional Development Fund support in the amount of EUR 1.1 million.


The project covers purchasing development and research equipment and the premises which will be renovated. The premises will also be properly equipped with the installations required for setting up and operation of the Computing Centre of the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS). The project aims to modernise and restructure the existing infrastructure which will also rationalise the use of computing capacities and enhance the organisational efficiency of the IJS Computing Centre.

The project will result in the establishment of renovated and modern IJS premises which will enable planning of the future development of the computing centre and thus other IJS sections and centres, as well as establishing a laboratory for grid computing.
