MEDT publishes call for proposals for development of regions, worth over 24 million Euros
Ljubljana, 26 July 2013 – Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MEDT) published in today’s Official Gazette the call for proposals for the co-financing of operations under the main type of activity “Regional Development Programmes” under the priority axis “Development of Regions” of the Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials 2007-2013 for the period 2013-2014. The projects, which will be co-financed under the European Regional Development Fund, will be eligible to 24,066,942.60 Euros.
Self-governing local communities are eligible to apply for the funds under the seventh call for proposals while the regional councils have – by taking into account the legislative provisions – the opportunity to define as the beneficiary also regional development agencies, public institutions and non-profit organisations in the field of social activity. MEDT will award the grant for projects which are included in the implementation plans of the regional development programmes for the period 2012-2014 and which are approved by the regional councils.
The following activities will be eligible:
- economic and educational infrastructure
- environmental infrastructure
- the development of urban settlements
- public infrastructure in areas with special protection arrangements and in tourist areas
- social infrastructure

The projects of the region Notranjsko-kraška are not eligible due to the full use of the available funds under the 6th call for proposals.
The deadline for submission of applications is 30 September 2013. All activities under the project will have to be implemented no later than 30 September 2014, which is also the deadline for the submission of the final request for payment and completion date of all activities (implementation of all works). The deadline for submission of proof of payment of all costs/expenditure as well as the deadline for the closure of the project is 31 December 2014.
In the case of the use of funds allocated by quotas in all regions the public call for proposals can close beforehand. If the funds within the prescribed period are not be disbursed entirely, MEDT can define additional deadlines for submission of applications.
